You certainly do have to wear them at tournaments Michael! When I played at Derby you were checked before you started! I personally hate them even when younger but thems the rules!

In a non contact sport, why do we really need them?
As I remember Mike it’s a (surprise surprise) a health and safety insurance thing that is needed by the venue.
