Italian Masters

8* Arbroath lads made their way to Peschiera Del Garda in Italy for Italian masters walking football tournament. The tournament was (once again) organised by Walking Football Tours. These guys have had a few years now organising this kind of tournament and this was, once again, a very well organised tournament.
The facilities were great, the location was spot on, and the company was fantastic. Can’t fault the organisers one little bit.

Arbroath were in the group that played in the afternoon, the weather was fantastic, 27 deg, not what the lads are used to back home.
The lads performed well against some very good sides. AWF progressed to the finals on the Sunday, it was no easy feat as there really wasn’t much between the teams.

Final day proved to be another hot day. In fact, it didn’t take long before Kevin had his top off and his moobs out.
The first game was a cracker, very evenly matched sides and the action was end to end. A slight lapse in concentration at the back cost AWF a goal and the game. After another 3 very close games which all finished 0-0, AWF lost their final game 3-0. The lads had performed really well on the day, but for fantastic goalkeeping, results could have been much different.
AWF can hold their heads high. Once again, they were there at the finals and not a kick in the arse away from going all the way.
